There's no right or wrong answer to your life

This is the transcript from my video ‘Why pursue mediocrity’ — I hope this message brings you some value, enjoy!

There’s no right or wrong answer to your life.

In the pursuit of what we love,
Or even the attempt to discover and taste it,
Sometimes we’re made to feel as if what we’re doing is wrong.
They’ll tell you this is not the path you should be going down.
You shouldn’t do it.
Don’t be discouraged if your vision and dream fail to match up to the well worn mainstream path.

Now let me tell you this,
As long as you’re not hurting anybody,
There’s no right or wrong answer when it comes to your life.
Even if it appears wrong to others,
Or goes against the grain of the misguided normality of society.
Most people’s advice is geared to giving you a similar life to their own,
It’s all they know.
That’s why you have to break away and listen to big thinkers,
Those who can support and understand the essence of your dream,
Even if only in spirit,
They’ll act as a bright shining light in a sea of judgement,
Providing comfort,
Support and admiration.
They share the knowledge that this is the true route to happiness and fulfilment.

Judgement may pour in and on the surface you’ll look as if you’re losing,
Things may be slow and awkwardly develop,
But you’re only a loser if you’re playing someone else’s game.
They’re comparing you to their standards and beliefs of what makes a successful life,
If you’re living your life according to your own goals and what you value,
Then you can only judge yourself by your own rules within your own game.
You’ll find that you’re winning.
Other’s lack the courage to listen to what’s truly inside of them,
Time will humble them,
A harsh lesson too late,
Or forever to be ignorantly blissful in the face of wasted potential.
So even if on the surface the mainstream thinks you’re losing,
You know that you’re really winning at your own game and as time moves on,
When it’s all said and done,
Win or lose,
That’s the only game that counts.
